Teamchase Win for “Relentless” at Bicester
Pickworths partner Belinda Walkinshaw’s new horse Smirnoff was quick off the hoof to help team “Relentless” win the Open Qualifier class at the Bicester & Whaddon Teamchase. The event held on Sunday 13 November was also sponsored by Pickworths.
Smirnoff, ridden by Rowan Cope is affectionately known as Smirff and was given his name because he was sold to Belinda for a case of vodka by his previous owner. This is Smirff's first season at teamchasing and he’s proving to be a real winner. Belinda’s other horse Mani, already an experienced teamchaser was in the line up too, ridden by Dickie Barratt. They were joined by Dougie Gittins riding Bono and Philip ridden by Pete Mason.
“Relentless” are already the winners of the Open classes at Meynell and South Staffs, Pytchley, Cotswold and Essex and Suffolk this autumn as well as winners of this year’s Goring Hotel Order of Merit. Bicester & Whaddon is now their sixth win of the season.
