Problems at Work?

Most employees have some sort of awareness of the rights that they have at work. That said, few know the extent, or indeed the limits, nor how best to exercise their rights.  This can lead to all sorts of problems with their employer.

The following are examples of issues that may arise:

• You want to take extended maternity or paternity leave but don’t know what you are entitled to or how to ask your employer
• Your employer gave a promotion to someone else that you believe should have been yours
• You believe that you are being treated differently to another person doing the same job, due to your ethnic origin, gender or other discrimination
• Your employer is selling up to another business and you are being offered a different/less significant role
• You are being made redundant
